Little Bay Beach
Located on the southern coast of St Maarten, just around the corner from Great Bay, this small but pretty beach is well protected by the outcrop of Fort Amsterdam right on the edge of Philipsburg. Several snorkeling excursions are using the rocks as a perfect spot to explore the tropical underwater world.

The Dutch city is famous for its duty-free shopping, making it a great place to pick up discounted watches, jewellery and liquor in the shops along Front Street.

One of the best St. Maarten excursions is to end the day with a cocktail in hand, sailing around the sea just in time to catch an epic rose and gold-hued Caribbean sunset. Plenty of operators around the island offer sunset sails on catamarans, with most departing from docks in Simpson Bay or Philipsburg.
Go scuba diving near Saba
Saba is a tiny volcanic island that’s an eco-paradise with crystal clear waters, incredible marine life and colorful coral. Since 1987, the Saba Marine Park has been considered a protected area, making this one of the Caribbean’s top dive areas.
Parotte Ville Bird Sanctuary
Sint Maarten’s Parotte Ville Bird Park is one of those secret gems tucked away in the island’s interior. You won’t find a website for Parotte Ville, but word of mouth travels fast enough to keep the visitors coming in. I’d been dying to go for months, but I wanted to take some kids with me. After all, kids make everything more fun.
Fort Amsterdam
The fort located on the peninsula between Great Bay and Little Bay was built in 1631 by the Dutch. It was their first Fort in the Caribbean named after the Chamber of Amsterdam. It overlooks both Philipsburg and the first Dutch settlement on island, Little Bay
